I’m a realtor in the Norwell area and have just put a beautiful antique cape, circa 1778, on the market. I’ve been told by my client that in was moved from Middleboro to River Street in Norwell in 1938. Since then there have been two additions, one in the early 60′s and one about 10 years ago. However the original house has not been touched. Might any of your members know anything about this house? Who owned it? Why it was moved to Norwell? My client says she has a picture of it before it was moved and a name someplace. If she finds it and if you’re interested I’d be happy to send it along.
Thanks so much,
Nancy McBride
Greetings, I am interested in historic hand powered fire engines and I have heard that your museum may own an 1853 Agnew hand engine by the name of “Young Mechanic #6″. I believe it previously belonged to the New Bedford Whaling Museum and originally belonged to the town of New Bedford. Can you tell me anything about this machine? Do you still own it or know who does have it? Do you own any other hand pumped fire engines or know of others in the area?
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Josiah Wagener
